My name is Gienine, and I am the owner of Parish Scents Co., a New Orleans candle company. I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, and my family has deep roots in the city dating back 150+ years. I have always enjoyed candles and have probably purchased hundreds of them over the years. As I've gone through various stages of preferences, I have gradually gravitated towards burning candles that have meaning - candles that remind me of the people, places, and things I care about. I wanted a candle that - when it burns - brings my fondest memories to the forefront.

That's when Parish Scents was created, and I have spent hundreds of days carefully testing and crafting my line of Louisiana-scented candles to recreate the scents of our beautiful state - the place where I was born, raised, and am deeply connected with in every possible way.

- Trim the wick: Trim the wick to ¼ inch before the first burn and after each burn to prevent mushrooming, a black bulb that forms after burning.
- Keep away from flammable objects: Keep candles at least a foot away from flammable items like drapes, tablecloths, and towels.
- Keep away from drafts: Keep candles away from drafts, vents, fans, or air currents to prevent uneven burning, smoking, or sooting.
- Place on a heat resistant surface: Place candles on a non-flammable, heat resistant surface.
- Burn within sight: Burn candles within sight at all times.
- Keep out of reach: Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
- Don't burn for too long: Don't burn candles for more than four hours at a time.
